Streambank Restoration

2650 liner feet of streambank were protected in the Upper St. Francis Ecological Drainage unit. On this project site trees were planted, invasive species were removed and managed and native plants were seeded. Within the project area 575 feet of streambank was actively eroding, stream barbs and stone toe protection were constructed to stabilize the areas of erosion. Along with stabilization on Castor River, an unnamed tributary on the property was stabilized using Newberry style riffles and an unstable stream crossing was fixed to prevent incising and restore riffle habitat.
