Cuivre River Mitigation Site

Streambank Restoration

The Cuivre River Riparian Mitigation Site is the largest project to date. Over a mile of the Cuivre River will be protected and preserved for perpetuity. Approximately 6,000 linear feet of the streambank was experiencing severe erosion, causing the bank to recede and degrading the water quality.

Mitico stabilized and restored the bank which will prevent further soil loss and improve the water quality and fish habitat. In addition, thousands of trees and milkweed plants have been planted in spring 2020 to provide wildlife habitat and filter pollutants from entering the river.

Here is our before and after footage of the project!
